Upcoming Webinar—Is Your Marriage a Contract or Covenant?

What would you like your marriage to look like for the rest of 2019 and going into next year?

Really—answer this for me! 🙂

If you’re like most Christian married people … you came into marriage with YOUR EYES WIDE OPEN to what God had for you and an ideal of what married life would be like.

That’s exactly what I did. And soon after, my EYES WERE OPENED to how unhealthy my expectations were, as well as to how trying married life could be!

Because … knowing what Scripture says about marriage, and experiencing successful marriage harmony are two different things.

That’s why I’m partnering with my good friend Kevin Taylor over at kevintaylorcounseling.com to bring you this LIVE workshop, where he’ll be showing you how to apply marriage truths you’ll need in order to experience marriage as God designed for you.

(Remember him from last week? Click to read his post: How a Faulty Worship Focus Can Hurt Your Marriage.)

CLEARER COMMUNICATION | DEEPER INTIMACY | IMITATING JESUS

We’re offering an exclusive and free webinar called: “Marriage: Contract or Covenant | Seeing Marriage Through the Right Lens.” And it’s happening this Thursday, October 17th at 7:00 p.m. (Central). (Please be advised the date has been rescheduled from the 10th to the 17th due to an unforeseen conflict!)

During the Workshop, Kevin will show you the essential differences between contracts and covenants and what that means for YOUR marriage.

He’ll cover important topics like:

  • HEADSHIP: The real Boss in our relationships?
  • How God designed us to accomplish together what we could never accomplish by ourselves!
  • How we think we know what Ephesians 5:22-26 means (and then what it really means!)

The great thing about what Kevin has created is that it’s a BIG-PICTURE theological view of marriage, but it’s also very practical so that new Christians, newlyweds, and everyone else in between can apply it to their relationships and find success.

So I hope you make sure to reserve your free seat for our unique marriage webinar that Kevin and I will be hosting on Thursday, Oct. 17th at 7 p.m. (CST).

If you haven’t registered yet, then what are you waiting for? Click this link to do it today – Marriage Covenant Webinar.

Bonus alert: After you register, you’ll get Kevin’s free e-Book “Don’t Eat Parrots: The Why of Marriage Trouble and How to Fix It.” It’s an incredible marriage resource that you’ll want in your arsenal, my friends!

Today’s post is a twofer! 😉

    1. Thank you, Lisa! But the truth is, I will only be showing up briefly at the beginning to kind of kick it off. Kevin will be doing all the “heavy lifting!” For which, I’m so very grateful! He’s an incredible communicator, with a powerful message and truths that are so essential to healing and protecting our marriages. Thanks for your prayers! They are greatly appreciated!

  2. Beth,
Sounds like a great webinar! Just curious, since that is during our precious together time that we guard, might the webinar be available for viewing after that time if I sign up? As always, I enjoy your great wisdom and advice offered here!
    Blessings,
    Bev xx

    1. Yes, it truly will be! And just so you know, it’s been postponed to the next Thursday, Oct 17th at 7. I know your concern is that it is during the evening when you want to connect with your hubby. But this will be available on youtube long after this event. The Covenant Marriage class that will be unveiled during this first webinar will be available at specific times. But I wouldn’t put it past Kevin to offer it here and there in the months and years to come. Thank you for stopping by to encourage me in this endeavor! I’m super excited to be able to offer this to my readers. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while and God provided with Kevin’s offer to me recently.

  3. There’s many things are covenants,
    marriage more than most.
    The honour that it represents
    can bear a heavy cost.
The comfort that I sorely need,
    I have to give release
to plant and nurture future seed
that brings a life of peace.
    The days are growing iron-hard,
and though I won’t stop fighting,
death is coming, yard by yard,
and I’m enjoined to the right thing.
Dear wife, I’m beached, and I can’t hide,
but you must still sail with the tide.

    1. Aww, I really hurt to read that last line, Andrew! This is beautiful as always, but a bit too foreboding for my mind to receive. I just want to think that you will be with us for the long haul, even though I know that’s not to be. Prayers for you and Barbara, as well as cyber-hugs for your heart.

  4. This sounds like a great webinar! Thank you for putting it together! I have to be really intentional about my relationship during the summertime when we spend great amounts of time apart.

    1. I actually have done little to pull it together, Anita. This is mostly being organized and prepared by Kevin, for which I’m so very grateful! I hope you will sign up for it. Everybody can benefit from a new insight or two–or even an old insight that needs to be refreshed in our minds. Sorry to hear that you’ve got that challenge in your marriage during the summer. But I’m glad to know that summer has drawn to a close so maybe you can spend more time with your guy! Thanks for stopping by and encouraging, my friend!

  6. Beth, I tried to leave a comment on ‘coasting’ at “A Wife Like Me” (boy, it feels WEIRD to write that) but the site seems to be down.

So, here’s the comment that would have appeared:

There’s so little I have left to give,
so it has to be my best,
for I have not too long to live
and I want to pass this test.
I want to make my every word
    be given with a smile,
and bend all my effort toward
    making time with me worthwhile.
I want to bring the Son alive
    in every heart I meet,
until the day that I arrive
    at God’s great Judgement Seat,
and hope, that as He bids me near,
He says, “Well done, lad! Have a beer.”

  7. This is great. Marriage doesn’t come with a handbook so the more I can learn from others about navigating it, the better. A free webinar sounds so awesome.

    3. It certainly doesn’t, Brittany. And it (marriage) as well as parenting are two of the hardest things we will ever take on in this life! But you know what! There is a marriage handbook of sorts–the Bible! I know Kevin will be using Scripture to really guide and inform his effort and those who will be showing up to listen. I hope you’re one of those participants, my friend! Thanks for stopping by and encouraging me!

    1. Thanks, Patsy! I was praying about offering one, but just didn’t have the time to pull one together after all. So I was thrilled when Kevin reached out to me about this opportunity! And I’m honored that he’s including me somewhat in this effort as well. Thanks for pinning, tweeting and stopping by to encourage! Means a lot to me!
