Now to the second one … It’s my latest devotion over at Devotable—Confess Your Sins to One Another. This article will help you to know how to embrace the healing that we all sometimes run from in life. See the start of it below.

Confession & Prayer - Ever feel like you're running from healing? Like it's just to painful to go toward your wounds? Then check out this devotional and be inspired to run toward healing instead of away from it! #healing #healheart #Godheals #emotionalwounds #confession #healingprayers #messymarriage

“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” —James 5:16

I don’t know about you, but this kind of verse and idea would have sent me running for the hills, back in the days of my youth! In fact, running from confession was probably one of the many things that, in the early days of my marriage, made it very messy.

Here’s how it typically went down . . . (Click here to read the rest of the story.)

  2. Oh how cool. Both important topics! And Ephesians is one of my favorite books. I love studies that are short, but deep. Its not an easy balance, I know. Thank you!

    1. Yes, indeed, Aryn! It’s always been my way of studying Scripture–to really dig into small segments of a chapter/passage. I know there are benefits to reading large sections all at once. But that’s not my preferred method. I feel like I miss too much when I do more than just a few verses at a time. Thanks for coming by and encouraging me! Hugs to you!

  3. I hope to get in on this sale for your devotional Bible study! Your devotion goes along with another post I read earlier. It is so needed that we have reminders to take our sin and our pain filled heart to the Lord Jesus for Him to heal us and restore us! It’s also one of those things that at times I feel i can be transparent with others but then there are times I struggle with it. I believe I needed the reminder that I do have people that are filled with showing grace and I can share my heart with them. Thank you Beth for sharing your heart today! Pinned and came through #kingdomblogger linkup

    1. I hope you do, April! It would bless me to know what you think about it too, once you’ve looked/read over it. I feel like we are very similar in how we value the power and importance of Scripture. I can see that from many of your blog posts.

And yes, we certainly do need to take our pain and wounds to the Lord to heal. I do hope you find healing for your hurts through the blessed vehicle of confession to others. It’s hard, but so worth it, if you find the right, trusted person to share with. Thank you for coming by and always encouraging me, my friend!

  4. Congratulations on launching these, Beth!

Confession never was my bag, either.

Anyone thinks I’ll bare my soul,
    they’d better think it twice.
‘Man Of Iron’ is my goal,
    and vulnerability is vice.
I laugh death right in the face,
    and never drop my guard,
since war is peace, strength is grace,
and there’s beauty in the hard.
I may be wrong but never doubt
that I looked to do the best,
and if it fails I do not pout,
    for failure’s part of quest.
I may be a haughty arrogant bloke,
but I’ll go out grinning; it’s MY joke.

    1. Thank you, Andrew! I really appreciate your words of encouragement on a process that is a long time in coming! 😉

And I beg to differ with your assessment of your life and attitude. I see you confessing all the time on your blog. Maybe it’s hard for you to do that face-to-face–as it is with most of us. But you are confessing and, I believe, finding healing for your soul nonetheless. Hope you are hanging in there, my friend! I’m hopping over to your place to find out next–though I know it’s probably not an encouraging update. Hugs and prayers to you!

And thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement. I’ll share a link to the hardcopy in this comment. I guess I should have done that in this post! Lol! 7. Congrats on your bible study! Ephesians is one of my favorite books and I’ve studied it more than once. I feel confident I will address it again. So. Much. Richness!

I’m going to go over and read your thoughts on confession. It’s something that has been on my mind lately.
