Recently I attended the AACC (American Association of Christian Counselors) World Convention in Nashville, Tennessee. It’s always an amazing time with many well-known Christian authors, counselors, experts and/or pastors leading us.
I attended several break-outs that featured such notable experts as; Henry Cloud, John Townsend, and Shaunti Feldhahn to name a few. In the large plenary sessions, some of my favorites we heard from were; Ravi Zacharias, James Dobson, Max Lucado, and Emerson Eggerichs.
I gleaned all sorts of new knowledge and insights that I hope to pass along to you, my Messy Marriage readers in the weeks and months to come! I also was able to obtain many new and signed book releases that will be part of several giveaways here at Messy Marriage very soon. We do have a three year anniversary of Messy Marriage coming up on October 9th, and I’m sure we’ll be in a generous mood!

I was also blessed to get to have a coffee/tea break with Shannon Ethridge, author of The Fantasy Fallacy as well as the co-author of Every Woman’s Battle series. I’ll be doing a book review and giveaway of The Fantasy Fallacy in the near future.
Shannon has such an amazing story of forgiveness and redemption from her past that I’m certain has given her the compassionate and vulnerable heart that she has. You’ll be hearing more about that story as well at some point.
On to other traveling news … my husband and I are traveling to England and Wales for our 25 (plus one year!) anniversary. A couple of years ago I signed up for Ancestry.com and was shocked to find out that way back in the late 1600’s my husband and I share a grandfather, Moses White! Who knew?! That ancestral line goes back to ancient English and Welsh royalty, so while in Wales we will be visiting Carew Castle where our ancestors resided so very long ago! But I just felt like seeing that would be so romantic! I’ll be sure to share pics of the trip and the castle when I return, so stay tuned!
One more thing, please be in prayer for us as we travel. We’re leaving Monday and should arrive in London on Tuesday morning. If you’re worried about Wedded Wednesday—don’t be! I have two amazing guests, Dr. Jennifer Thomas for this Wednesday and counselor/blogger Linda Stoll for next Wednesday to host the link up! Please come on out and support these wonderful ladies while I’m away!
