Wise Words #2 and Wedded Wednesday Link-up!

Last week I was on a road trip with my husband and seventeen year old son to look at our oldest son’s alma mater, Liberty University in Lynchburg Virginia. It was a whirlwind trip that left me a little physically and emotionally deflated for some reason. I won’t go into all of it, but suffice it to say, I’m feeling like an old lady today!

So in lieu of my own words of wisdom, I’d like to highlight several others of you that have caught my eye this past week …

Kim Hall of Too Darn Happy makes me happy every time I visit her blog. This past week was no exception as she wrote, Honesty: What’s love got to do with it? After all, the subject of honesty is near and dear to my heart since we strive to be REAL, Raw and Redemptive here as well. Kim helps us to understand the need to speak the truth to our spouses and goes on to tell us how to do it in a loving way as well. Great read!

Sheila Wray Gregoire is a widely known blogger who seems to know how to address those touchy subjects of marriage in just the right way. The post that caught my eye this time is, How Do I Forgive My Husband? First of all, forgiveness is an area that I feel great passion about since it was and continues to be instrumental in redeeming the messes my husband and I both made/make in our marriage. In this post, Sheila addresses the issue of whether to forgive if our spouse hasn’t repented. So tricky and yet so insightful! Check it out!

Gaye of Calm Healthy Sexy has been a wonderful bloggy friend who I have to say is a HUGE Twitter supporter of mine and MM’s. I’m still trying to get my wings flapping in Twitter, while she’s soaring all over the place! But this time it wasn’t just her Twitter savvy that caught my eye, but her article, 6 Free Gifts to Give Our Husbands that really resounded with me. Some of it was practical and wise and some of it was deeply convicting! You’ll have to see for yourself and then use it to bless your husband in the ways she’s suggested!

Finally, Kathryn over at Singing Through the Rain has an incredible blog where she allows you to ask her questions once a month on any topic of your choosing. I hope you take her up on that generous offer. Also, be sure to come by her blog tomorrow (Thursday), because I’m guest blogging about, “2 Types of Change.” Yes, there really are two types, but until then, I’m going to leave you guessing as to what they are!

  7. Thanks so much, Beth! I am humbled and delighted to have been featured! Honesty is that character trait that too often gets short shrift. 😦 As you stress here at Messy Marriage, we must be lovingly honest with our spouses if our relationships are to flourish!
