Of Apologies, Anniversaries and Giveaways!

I’m so excited to be back with all of you from my 25 anniversary trip to England and Wales. But what’s even more exciting is that it’s Messy Marriage’s 3 year anniversary too! So today I’m going to share lots of pictures from our trip (forgive me if I go overboard–it was just so hard to leave anything out!) and offer three books in a giveaway to celebrate our past three years with all of you!

Now, before I get started, let me apologize to everyone for the technical difficulties we had with the linky tool last week. I didn’t have my laptop or passwords to fix the problem. I hated that both of our gracious hosts – Dr. Jennifer Thomas and Linda Stoll missed out on the fun of hosting WW. So you’ll see them again in the near future!

One more apology is to those of you who I’ve not visited in a while or maybe never, especially if you’re new to Wedded Wed. I’ve also had some of you email me and ask me some questions or favors, and if I’ve not responded to those, please let me know. A lot has escaped my notice over the past busy month or so! I promise to do better now that I’m home for a while.

After landing in London and taking a 5 hour train ride, we came to our first destination, Tenby, Wales –

We also visited a church while in Liverpool, called Frontline. It’s very much like our home church, Metro. I’ll be sharing a special post about our visit there and the hospitable people we encountered in the weeks to come!

    1. We really did have the time of our lives, Scott. It was the best trip I’ve ever experienced, and I’ve traveled to many, many far-away places. I think we’re in a really happy and growing place in our marriage as well. Maybe that has something to do with it too! 🙂 Thanks for your continual encouragement! It’s greatly appreciated!

  2. You are gorgeous, girl! Your pictures brought back sweet memories of trips to Great Britain long ago where my dad grew up.
I loved sharing time with the gang here last week! You’ve got some really exceptional readers in this neck of the woods, and I loved the conversations we had.

    1. Awww, thanks, Linda! I am a bit self-conscious as I creep higher and higher on the aging ladder! But I feel young at heart still. It seems like just yesterday I was a young bride!

I’m glad that our pictures stirred fond memories for you. Where exactly did your dad grow up in the UK?

Thanks for the kind words about the readers. I agree! They are quite a lovely bunch that hang out here once a week! And I’m so glad to see you in the line up this Wedded Wed, my sweet friend! Love ya!

  3. Oh, wow, I’m so jealous! What a beautiful trip. And you are such a lovely couple! (You and your hubby, not you and James Bond, although that’s a great picture, too!) Welcome back, Beth!

    1. It really was a beautiful trip, Becky. I’m keeping a running slide-show in my mind of all that we did and treasuring each sweet memory of our time in such a beautiful place. You make me laugh about “James Bond!” I do think my hubby and I make a lovely couple but I don’t think my husband would mind me saying that Daniel Craig and I look kinda “hot” together too! 😉 Thanks for your constant encouragement, my friend!

  4. Oh how fun! You look so pretty and the scenery is gorgeous too. You must have had such a precious time with your sweet hubby! Our son and his wife are just returning from their honeymoon tonight. In fact, their plane touches down at midnight. They went to Ireland!

Our favorite vacation spot is Disney World. We’ve been to DW six times and Disneyland four times. We just love it, I guess, lol! thanks for hosting today and welcome back.

    1. That’s another place I’d love to visit … along with Scotland. You’ll have to share about their honeymoon on your blog, Nan. I’d love to see their pictures too. And congrats to you and your son. I didn’t know you had a son old enough to get married! I have a friend that absolutely loves Disney anything! She’s still quite the kid at heart and it makes it easy for me to know what to get her for her B-day–something with Mickey on it always brings a smile to her face.

      1. Well, I’d LOVE to say that he’s only nine years old and not old enough to be married, but that’s not true, lol! He is almost 25 and I have no idea when that happened! 😉 As I say on my blog, I was probably shaving my legs or something and missed him growing up overnight.

Oh, I wished you shared more photos! This was just great. I wonder where Hubbie is going to take you for the next anniversary. The view on the beach from your B&B is just breathtaking.

    1. I’m glad you enjoyed the photos, Mia. I’ll probably share more of the photos in other posts in the weeks and months to come, so you’ll have more of England’s beauty to feast upon! 🙂 I’m not sure about the next anniversary, although I’m hoping we’ll be someday able to return to Tenby and maybe make it to Ireland and Scotland too. But first we have to finish getting our sons through college! ha!

  9. It looks and sounds like you had a wonderful vacation! Thanks for sharing the beautiful pic’s!
My wife and I took a trip last June to the Virgin Islands. I’d have to say that was one of the most relaxing vacations we’ve shared. Plenty to do for enjoyment, but with no preplanned schedule, we also had plenty of time for R&R.
    Happy Anniversary! …both marital and blogging… 🙂

    Like

    1. Yes, it was great, Joe. I’ve never been to the Virgin Islands but I bet it’s quite beautiful as well. And don’t ya just love those trips where you don’t have to be anywhere at any certain time or knocking out a long list of sights? We had a lot of relaxing times on this trip and kept our pace a bit slower until London. And although I really loved seeing all of London, that wasn’t the highlight of our trip. Thanks for your kind words and well wishes!

  10. Beautiful beautiful photos Beth, you had a great time! congratulations on your 3rd blog anniversary! one of my favorite anniversaries was when we retraced our courtship journey – fav venues and food – and topped it off with an evening at our honeymoon hotel 🙂 It was so good!

    1. Thanks, Ngina! Your anniversary trip down memory lane sounds like a blast! You should share a post about what all you did and how it made you feel, right? I know I’d be interested in hearing more about it! Hugs to you, sister!

  12. Beautiful pictures, Beth! Thanks for sharing this special anniversary with us. If money was no object, I would love to travel to rural China with my husband and just spend time looking out the window to the majestic mountains and lush green trees. 🙂

    1. Hmmm, rural China. I bet that is a very beautiful and untouched area of the world. I hope you get to go there someday, Jessica. Sounds like you need to start planning and dreaming about that trip–making it a real possibility.

  13. Fabulous pictures! Glad you had a wonderful time. I think that it would be difficult for Scott and I to agree on a place to go. I would want Scotland and he would want Germany. Maybe that is why we only go to Walt Disney World. It seems to be the only place we both want to go.

    Like

    1. Thanks so much, Heather. It really was a “fabulous” time. That’s funny that you two couldn’t agree on where to go. Maybe someday you could go to both places. They’re not too far away from each other, right? Or better yet, visit it’s a small world at DisneyWorld! ha!

My husband studied in Italy for 4 months. He loved everything about the city of Rome. If money was no object I’d surprise him one night saying, “Let’s go back to Rome!” with two tickets in hand and another chapter of our story to be written. Gosh he’d love that!!

Well that was fun!! I am so happy to see you two enjoying one another. Again, Happy anniversary and many blessings to MM!

    1. You need to sock away a little here and there for that trip of a lifetime, Nykiah! That sounds so perfect–to “write another chapter” in your love story, my friend. So I challenge you to make that dream a reality. It may take you years to bring it to fruition, but the planning and saving can be half the fun! Thanks so much for your kindness to me and love having you in the Wedded Wed line up, my friend!
